Sandy Hook Region
Sandy Hook, a peninsula with miles of ocean and bay access, is a National Park and home of historic military base Fort Hancock and the Sandy Hook Lighthouse. On the 200th anniversary of the lighthouse, it was named a National Historical Landmark and today it is maintained by the United States Coast Guard.
Activities include: lifeguard protected ocean swimming, sunbathing, surf fishing, and bird watching.
Free summer concerts from June to Sept.
Attractions include the Sandy Hook lighthouse, Fort Hancock and the Fort Hancock museum, Twin Lights lighthouse is located nearby in Atlantic Highlands.
